Cracked Column

In my uncle’s café

Columns crack

Crack and protest

When will he understand?

That made up homes

Have cracked columns

“This is your home country”

He yells, I roll my eyes

The underground café

Built in the foundation of a church

A Roman church

That’s how old it is

They demolished the church

Erased its foundation

And built the café

Then built Israel

And the column cracked
